6+ Years of Remote Work: Why I Love Working Remotely and You Should Too

Learn the Benefits of Remote Work and How It Can Improve Your Lifestyle and Career.

After more than 6 years of working remotely, I frequently contemplate my own journey as a remote worker amidst the growing popularity of this trend. When I first made the switch to remote work, it was a major shift in my life. But as time has passed, I have come to appreciate the many benefits that come with this lifestyle.

Advantages of remote work

Flexibility

For me, one of the biggest advantages of remote work is the flexibility it offers. I have the freedom to plan my own day, which means that my career and personal life can coexist seamlessly.

I can work from anywhere in the world, and as a result, I’ve met like-minded people who share my passions and motivations. I’ve also had the opportunity to learn about many different cultures and religions, which has been a truly enriching experience.

To be a successful remote worker, self-motivation is essential. There is no one checking what time I start work or how long I take for lunch. I work the hours I work because I enjoy what I do, and I have the ability to manage my time effectively.

Elimination of the Daily Commute

No more rushing to catch the train or fighting through rush hour traffic. This means that I have more time to devote to other activities, such as reading, drawing, exercising, writing, or practising my language skills.

Set My Own Schedule

Another major benefit of remote work is the ability to create my own schedule. I have the freedom to split my day up however I like, which means that I can do my grocery shopping at 3 pm on a Tuesday afternoon instead of battling the crowds on a Saturday morning.

Working remotely also helps me stay more focused. When I’m in control of my routine, I have fewer distractions, and I don’t have co-workers stopping by my desk for a quick chat that can quickly turn into a 30-minute distraction. By simply turning off my notifications, I can buckle down and focus a lot easier than I could in a traditional office environment.

No Dress Code

And last but not least, one of the most enjoyable aspects of remote work is the ability to wear whatever I want. I no longer spend my mornings agonizing over what to wear to the office. I can wear my pyjamas all day if I want to (although I don’t recommend this).

There are many benefits. and the experience can be truly life-changing. Whether you’re looking to travel the world or simply have more time for the things you love, remote work can offer the flexibility and freedom you’re looking for.

If you’re considering transitioning to remote work, I hope these reasons have convinced you to start exploring the possibilities. With remote work, your office can be anywhere you choose.
