chiang mai always feels like a seasonal place. nomads roll in around october, filling up the coffee shops, the co-working spaces, the streets. by november, the city feels alive with energy. some stay into january, but when burning season comes, most move on, chasing clearer skies and new adventures.

we’re still here this time. in other years, we’d have left by now too. but slowing down feels right, staying longer, even as friends begin to leave.

and that’s the thing about nomad life: saying goodbye never gets easier. you have that one final meet, you hug, you promise to meet again, in another country. but there’s always that uncertainty, will our paths cross again? 💭

maybe they will, maybe they won’t. but if i’ve learned anything, it’s this: the people who matter always find their way back, at the right time, in the right place 🤍

so many of those goodbyes are really just “see you laters.”

 food stalls, live music, goats running wild, endless palm trees, and so much green. it feels like a market tucked inside its own little jungle.

only open on weekends, and imo, it’s unlike any other market in chiang mai, definitely more of a hidden gem than a tourist spot. Made even better when I get to explore places like this with family, letting them see a side of chiang mai beyond the usual ‘10 best things to do’ ✨✨✨

i wandered through the local market, picked up some avocados to make breakfast at home. but on the way back, i stopped for coffee. acoffee with a little note. a note that felt like a reminder, just for me.
